COLLEGE OF
DENTURISTS OF ONTARIO

Regulating the profession of Denturism since 1973

Transparency Initiatives-Making More Information Available to the Public

Regulatory bodies need to pay heed to the public’s growing call for greater transparency, particularly from those organizations with a public interest mandate. Like any other regulator of health care professions, the College of Denturists of Ontario understands that the public trust is contingent on our ability to demonstrate our accountability to this mandate.

In November 2014, the College of Denturists of Ontario responded to a letter from the Ontario Minister of Health and a letter from the Assistant Deputy Minister, which contains the government's request that regulators make more information publicly available. In its response, the CDO has outlined its action plan to enhance transparency.

Council adopted the Advisory Group for Regulatory Excellence Transparency Principles as presented at the Council meeting held on December 12, 2014.
